The key features of the floodlit AWT layout are:

The track is right handed and has a bend radius of 137m

The track is 20m wide in the home straight and 16m on the bends designed to accommodate 17 runners in all distances (other than 5f and 6f races where safety factors will be reduced to 12)

The outer track is a ten furlong (2,000m) oval – the track will host 6f, 7f, 1m, 1m 3f, 1m 4f and 2m races

The inner track is an eight furlong (1,612m) oval – this will allow for 5f and 1m 2f races

Of the 42 floodlight that will illuminate the track, 28 of the poles will have the ability to lay flat to the ground – therefore not obstructing the viewing during day time and Jump fixtures

The home straight of new Jump course has been moved closed to the grandstand bring the racing action closer than ever before.  This has increased our Jump racing surface by 10m which will help us provide fresh ground for each fixture.  The overall increase in turf for Jump racing is 33%.

Extensive improvements have been made to all take off and landing areas at each fence.  The fences in the home straight have been made equidistant and the fences in the back straight have been realigned and repositioned, so now the open ditch is the second and last in the back straight.

This gives us the flexibility in future years if we are required to run races over the distance of 2m 2f.
